Welcome to MichWriter.com. We are currently looking for members. This will be a great place to share tips and opportunities. Who are you and what have you written?
As most of you know I did the INCH Homeschooling convention in Lansing recently in May of 2012. It would be hard to justify the high price of this show going as just as an author. It was a good show and I think it will open many doors for Mick Art Productions, through future speaking engagements and publishing. We may even have some new MichWriters come aboard! :) But if you would like to consider attending next year with me, give me a call and we'll discuss the details. -Mick

Show Review-Book Signing - Community Crafters Show, Bay City, Michigan 3/31/12 - Despite a sizable turnout for this show, the economic conditions that we lived under kept sales low. Barb & Dan and myself still had a good time though, meeting people and showing people our books. In my personal experience so far, Bay City has been the hardest place I've been to, to sell books.

Show Review-Book Signing - Parkway Christian Christian School, Sterling Heights, Michigan 3/23/12 - The turnout at this show was pretty low. As a matter-of-fact I had a very difficult time finding it myself because they had no signs up on the road. The day wasn't a total loss though because I met some wonderful people and finally got to meet Cheryl Pickett, a fellow MichWriter who has been a great help to me and this ministry. I got good tips from other artists as well about upcoming shows that might be worth checking out.
Show Review-Keepsake Collection Show at SVSU: MichWriters Mick McArt and Barb Hagler shared the booth at this show. It started strongly, but the unusually warm day drained the place of people rather quickly. If you plan on attending one of these events I would highly recommend sharing the space, I've seen better profits at smaller venues.

• 3/12/12 Kelly Ann Reed has joined the MichWriter Guild! Her book "Night of Destiny" will be available soon. Kelly's husband Craig painted the cover for the book, what a team!
• 2/14/12 James D. David has just joined MichWriter and he has a fascinating book on baseball. Great to have you with us James!
• 2/14/12 MichWriter welcomes it's newest member, Shari Drake. Shari is the author of the book HANS: Hope Amid Nazi Shadows. Welcome aboard!
• Mick McArts sequel to his popular christian children's book "Tales of Wordishure" has an official release date of May 1st. The title will be called, "Tales of Wordishure - Book II"
• 12/5/2011 Author Dave Moore has joined MichWriter! It's great to have him as part of this group. So if you get the chance visit his website and learn more about his true story "The Father's Love."
• 11/14/2011 Writers Robert and Alice Smith have joined MichWriter! They reside in Frankenmuth, Michigan and have wonderful books!
• MichWriter Cheryl Pickett is offering a new course based on her first book, Publishing Possibilities. Details are at her site www.cherylpickett.com/programs. It is short, sweet, and affordable. It focuses on helping experts, people like coaches, consultants, speakers, or those with a message to create books to build their business. This current course applies to most any genre.
• Are you an illustrator looking for work? Our authors are all looking for great artists to help us out with our books. Use the contact button above to let us know that you are available.
• Casey Brand New by Janis Lord has now been released and is available at www.amazon.com. It is a wonderful book that shows children the wonderful transforming power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• You don't have to be just a writer to belong to MichWriter. We are currently looking for illustrators, photographers, and other Christian artists to join.
• Is your church looking for good Christian books by local authors? Would you like one of our authors to come speak at your church, club, or special event?
UPCOMING EVENTS
The Second Annual Christian Art Festival will be held at Zilwaukee's Firemans Park on August 25th, 2012. All Christian artists are welcome to sign up. If you are interested, use the "contact" button to let me know and I will send a sign-up sheet. It is an outside show so be ready to have a tent and the cost will be $25.00.

• May 26-27, 2012 - Alma Highland Festival. Mick McArt will be signing his new book and may even be wearing a kilt?!! Come see for yourself if this crazy Irishman can sneak into this Scottish fest!
• June 2, 2012 - Brand New You Event - Held annually at Martin Chiropractic in Bridgeport Michigan, this is a fun health event that Mick McArt will be at. Wordishure books are a great way to boost spiritual health, ta da!
• August 4-5, 2012- Tawas Waterfront Art Festival, Tawas City, MI. Mick McArt will be available to sign books.
• August 25, 2012 - The Christian Art Festival, Zilwaukee Firemans' Park. MichWriters' reserved so far: Mick McArt, Jan Lord, Kelly Reed. Painter Mary Roe has signed on as well.
